Well, if you don't have a services menu item then you're running POP mail only, which is no big thing - just means you're not using Exchange.
If you have the 'save password' box checked and it keeps prompting you for your password, either:
1. Your saved password is the wrong password. If the password is bad, it'll prompt you for the right one. When it prompts you, put in the correct password, re-check the 'save password' box, and you'll be good.
2. The installation of Outlook is bad. Try running the Office auto-repair, or remove & re-install Outlook.
