DTS is a LOT better if your system can decode it. Basically DTS (I'm not going into the details, I'll leave that for audiophiles) contains a lot more "information" than Dolby5.1. Sounds will seem a lot more vibrant. This is completely separate from 6.1 and 7.1 setups.
