Easiest way should be through safe mode, but I'm not sure why your comp is crashing to not let you get to safe mode. Underclock your proc as everbody said. Also make sure you got about 10% freespace on your drive that'll help. And god forbid you're trying to defrag with the defraging proggy that windows gives you. Get norton or Mcafee's disk defraging prgram, those are much better.
