I didn't know this until after I signed up with them and got a phone, GRRRR. Therefore, no transfer of files (music, pics, contacts info, etc) via bluetooth. Perhaps this would spare me from being blitzed with this ad crap in the future, but that's a high price to pay. I'd really rather NOT have a neutered phone. Verizon blows.

They disable bluetooth because they want to sell you music, ringtones, etc rather than you uploading your music from you ipod to it. There's a reason why Apple original attempt at an iPod in a phone (with Motorola ROKR) failed. It's because the service providers want you to buy another copy of the song from them. In effect, they want to control your content. It has nothing to do with marketing.
