Late in September I was at the dentist and mentioned that I had some dull pain/sensitivity above one of my upper canine teeth. He took some x-rays and decided I needed a root canal

(the procedure went quite well). He wasn't sure if I would still need oral surgery to "clean out" the area above the tooth. Well, late afternoon on Saturday the area started hurting big time. I called the dentist and got started on antibiotics. It took 3 ibuprofen to knock down the pain (for about 5 hours). Late Sunday evening the area opened up through the gum, which really eliminated the pain (took off the pressure). I went to the oral surgeon today and he cleaned out the area (cut back the gum and bored onto the jawbone to get the bad stuff out - had to clip the root of the canine and adjacent incisor in the process). So now it's ice packs, vicodin, etc. for a while. Probably means that Thanksgiving dinner :turkey:

is out of the picture
