Oh, you're right. I misread. The neighbor is the cousin of girl #1. Then is said girl #1 lives with her brother. I was conflating the cousin and brother to mean she lived with her brother next door. My bad.
Girl #2 handled the situation well when you told her and seemed to indicate she was interested. Go for her.
