Windows Vista Home

I got my OS today and installed. Any suggestions like how to get rid of the annoying "I don't recognize that program. Do you really want to run/install it"? I closed out most of the sidebar things (I like the pictures thing for now and left the clock). I tried to install a game from the DVD drive and it kept asking "do ya, punk?" and do nothing when I clicked "yes". I ended up selecting to explore under "My Computer> D: Drive DVD" and found the program launcher. I haven't really gotten much further than that. It is installing right now.

I also haven't tried to hook it up to the internet yet or try to copy over files from the old computer. Reading the booklet it says you cannot use a USB to transfer files from one computer to another? Anyhow I was thinking of taking out the drive from this one and putting it in the new one and copying a few files (like photos and Favorites- I already know most programs have to be manually installed).

Any suggestions welcomed. I will probably ditch Norton and try Avast once I get on the internet with it. Thanks in advance!
