Ok here's another question:

How will going through the insurance company affect ME? I don't own a car and thus I don't have auto insurance. The insurance I had was a one-time insurance I bought as a part of renting the Penske truck. While my insurance will cover the accident, will it leave a blemish on my drivers licence record? If so, how could having that record affect me? I don't plan to own a car in the next 5 years (at least) but I occasionally rent a car. Is there any reason that it would be worth it for MY sake to just pay the guy off $75 in cash?

p.s. there was no deductible, so if I went through the insurance company I wouldn't have to pay anything.
