I spoke with the FinAid folks at school and they said Citi's been doing this to a lot of folks this year.
Chase is offering a much better rate - in fact, Chase's worst rate is better than the rate Citi offered.
Basically, Citibank is losing a customer. I had all of my banking consolidated with them, but now that I'm going to have to go elsewhere for this loan, I have no incentive to keep my other stuff with Citibank.
