When I went "big screen" I sold my old 27" Panasonic to a coworker for dirt cheap (he still uses it). When I upgraded my computer I paid $10 to Staples to recycle it. I did not mind the fee- was glad they could take care of it. It was also nice they are just a couple blocks away. My old LCD monitor went to my brother when I updated that.
That may sound like I buy a lot of electronic stuff but I don't. I had the Panasonic for probably ten years, the computer for at least six. I try to get nice things so that they will last a longer time. I don't even have a car or cell phone (yep- still on a land line). Cheap bugger.
