We are in LA and my cousin still acquires a car here and there even though he has no space or use for them. I'd imagine places like detroit would have some good deals on old fords, etc.
Better investments imo are old Japanese steel. You will appreciate the engineering and capability of certain old j cars. Do some research and see why it's harder and harder to find cosmos, mazda rotaries like the r100, 510's, etc. The key is find one in original factory condition so there is less to restore.
