Absolutely - esp. around hard hit places like Michigan where overall unemployement breaks records every month.

It's not that people don't want kids to work - it's that there is way more compeition for ALL jobs than there has been in the past. This is what causes recent grads to work at non-skilled jobs - there just aren't enough entry level jobs to go around. Nothing to do with prolonging adolescence or the minimum wage.
