i know for me personally, organized religion was not a good match. i was raised catholic, confirmed and all that jazz. and if and when i ever get married, i plan on doing it in a catholic church (preferably the church i went to growing up). but for the most part, i don't believe in what they teach and rules they enforce.
i've tried going to a few different protestant churches, and they all wierded me out. i think it was because they were so much looser than the catholic mass.
there are some people who thrive in an organized religion. they have the faith and the belief system to help them.
anyway, there are some good quotes from the movie dogma that pertain to this thread:
Rufus, the 13th Apostle: What He really hates is the **** that gets carried out in his name. Wars. Bigotry. Televangelism.
Loki: Church laws are fallible because they're created by man.
Serendipity: I have issues with anyone who treats faith as a burden instead of a blessing. You people don't celebrate your faith; you mourn it.
