they give you their email address. then you go to "get more points" and then enter their email address, and it sends them an invitation thing. when they sign up, you get the 750 points.
i don't see this as a spam thing, cuz there aren't referral links. plus, it doesn't "compete" with G|A since G|A can't get the referral credit anyhow. i hope i'm not wrong on this.
