I have just built a computer and I am having problems. Whenever I install windows and restart it a couple times or so. A registry error occurs and the windows tries to fix the problem. After it fixes the registry, windows resets the registry back to the original registry (example: back to the fresh install of the registry when I first installed windows). I know it's not the software that I installed that caused the problem because a couple of time it happened right after a fresh installation of windows (before I installed anything). I have tried using different versions of windows. I have tried windows 98 and windows 98 SE and they both have the problem. So I believe it's either the BIOS setting that is incorrectly set or my processor is not compatible with the motherboard. I also have a feeling it's the CPU Card. Does the CPU card need any requirements for a Pentium III? I have a 733 mhz Pentium III processor with 133mhz System Bus thats Flip Chip PGA and 256kb On-Die Cache. The mainboard is an Acorp 6VIA81P mainboard compatible with 733mhz and up to 133mhz CPU Bus Speed. I have tried taking out all of the hardware except for the video card and CD-ROM and I have even changed my video card with another and still errors. I am in desperate need of help. If anyone can help, please reply to this post. Thanks in advance.
