try removing the CDROM drive and see if the plextor works as a slave on the primary. If it does, then hook up the cd as master on channel 2, and see what happens. It could be that the second channel controller is frying out, the drive is bad, or there is some conflict going on between drives. I've had devices not show in windows, but never with a !, so I'm worried you have some bad hardware somewhere. Switch around devices and see what happens.
