I can relate to that. For the past 6 weeks, I have been training new hire techs. The same thing, day in and day out. Today, I went in, no new class (woohoo!). But they needed training manuals updated, re-written, submitted, and done again after they are shot down.
I am sitting in a room with no windows. With no outside stimulation. No external email (of course the computers in the room are not connected to the network!)
Training isn't even my job!!
But I have been told the position will be opening up soon and that by 'volunteering' will help me get that position.
How come when someone asks you to do something different at work to break the monotony, and you say 'sure' cuz there has to be something better it is 'volunteering'? And when you want to RUN away, they give you guilt?
Work sucks.
