I was always told that if the cars engine gets submerged its a goner. A lot of the internal lubrication belts etc get destroyed, plus when water enters the block it wrecks it. I am no mechanic by any means, but that is what i was always taught. Plus there is that issue of getting the water out of the upholstery, walls, etc. which will plague the electrical system. If you know there were floods in the area, which there were a lot in texas recently, you want to send it back or get some sort of written guarantee about the car.
