Lightbulb Excellent alternative

I am by no means a stereo guru, but I bought an ADA106 system from Altec Lansing(http://www.alteclansing.com) about 9 months ago. At the time it was on clearance for ~$150 on their site. Plenty of power to shake the walls(put the sub in a corner), plus dolby digital 5.1, and pro-logic. They no longer sell that exact model, but they do sell a similar one. Maybe you could find it on ebay?

Plusses are(at least for me) that I don't need a receiver, outs from TV are variable, so speaker volume is changed by TV volume. Great sound (I'm not a guru, just enjoy the sound). Excellent price. Speakers power down when there's no sound.

Minuses are surround sound is goofy when TV is not putting out a surround sound signal (seems to my like any music and most sound effects come out of both front and rear channels while everything else comes out front only). Easily fixed by changing speakers to stereo(but I don't have universal remote so there's another remote lying around)
