PC is great, if you have the money to buy the best of best hardware, then you can grind out some serious sound effects and graphics. And there are a lot more games for PC too...
Consoles can be really kick-ass if you have a really nice home entertainment setup. (But a nice setup could cost you a pretty penny.) And another nice thing is that you're not only limited to playing games since you can watch TV and DVD on your entertainment system..... whereas with a PC, you're kinda limited by how big your monitor can get and why would anyone wanna sit at their desk and watch DVDs when you can have a comfy seat on the couch and watch it on a HDTV...
But in any case, if you really really really have the money, you'd just get both... cuz what would life be without games!!
