Got | Apex? is a site, quite simply, dedicated to performance.
If you can answer yes to any of the following questions, you're probably
in our target audience:
You've ever wanted to buy a 32" TV for $87
You no longer pay for shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, cause you
get it all free from the net
You like getting new packages in the mail everyday
Your picture has been on the "Most Valuable Customer" wall
at the VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, and Discover centers so long the wall
behind it is a different color
Big heatsinks make you smile
Looking at drivers in front of you in on the highway, you think to
yourself, "Three million sperm and YOU were the fastest?!?"
The Celeron 300A holds historical significance to you
Have to try hard not to snicker when someone tells you they going
to buy an iMac
"You have to set latency to 3 at 133" actually means something
to you
We are a one stop shop for all your computing needs. Not
only will we be focusing on hardware and software reviews, "how to"
tutorials for overclocking and optimizing, and the latest related news,
but will be your portal to the hottest deals. If there's a discount to
be had, you'll find it here. On the overclocking side, we will be
looking at products and procedures that may be radical, but accessable
to everyone. While expensive, high risk projects like liquid nitrogen
may be interesting (and more power to those who use/review em) we'll probably
do not much more than touch on the subjects. If you have any comments
or suggestions, please feel free to contact us at apex@gotapex.com.

Apex: As many have
surmised, Gabriel became "Apex" when accidentally electrocuted in a celeron
overclocking experiment gone tragically wrong, some two to three years
ago. Unfortunately, he has decided to use the resulting superpowers not
for good, but rather for evil. OK OK, maybe not evil but at least general
all-around naughtiness. Now, as the self-proclaimed fearless leader (not
heavy-handed slave-driving dictator as Darth and Leon are so apt to point
out) of Got | Apex?, Gabriel scours the net for 20+ hours a day for the
latest deals. What does he do those other 4 hours? Eats (he's an avid
carnivore), pretends to sleep, tries to answer the 200 or so emails he
gets a day, and looks for people to do his work for him.

Leon: Born in Queens,
New York he grew up in San Diego. As a child he loved computers (4.77Mhz
XT) and accidentally formatted his hard drive at age 10. Although, computers
was always a hobby, he never thought of it as a career and Majored in
Biology at UCSD. He eventually changed majors and graduated from UCSD
with a BA in Economics. Leon decided to go into accounting, but then decided
it was just too darn boring! Leon went on to an Internet company to learn
more about IT and Networking. Then, one fateful night, he went up to Gabriel's
house and discussed a new website. One that would be a haven for computer
geeks everywhere. The site called GotApex.com would eventually get a "deals"
page that would become it's most popular page. During his free time, Leon
enjoys movies, home theatre equipment, video games, target shooting, volleyball,
sleeping, and eating.

Stephen (aka) DARTH:
A die hard STAR WARS fan who enjoys pushing today's tech to the limits.
Born in a suburb of Philadelphia called Newtown, Stephen ran with a pack
whom he considered family referred to as Raintree. Obsessed with partying,
Stephen led the life of a true SITH. It wasn't until he met his Norwegian
wife Else that he truly realized the power of the Dark Side however. She
taught him that responsibilities and family were better then partying
and prowling. Weakened by the mysterious female SITH's "force persuasion"
he quickly gave up his old ways and they set out for CA to further their
college education and lives together. Upon enrolling Stephen was inclined
to purchase his first computer ever. He began playing games on his
Toshiba manufactured Pentium 200MHz. When he was confronted by a game
that was responsible for bringing many a SITH's aging system to its knees,
Unreal. Tired of watching the slide show Stephen quickly began upgrading
until he finally constructed his first PC. Disgruntled by his early reliance
on incompetent Toshiba Tech support, he vowed he would teach others about
how to get the most from their PC's without having to wait on hold for
8 hours. Stephen has since been called upon by numerous manufacturers
to beta test hardware and LOVES delivering his experience to the reader
in a way that is not overly technical and is enjoyable to a wide audience. Because
of his observance of the Tech market and the trends within the gaming
community Stephen has also been obliged to found a Marketing and Public
Relations firm that caters to the gaming segment. Due to his involvement
in that sector Stephen feels it a conflict of interest to review competitor
producst. Stephen is in charge of all review inquiries, authorizations
and scheduling as well as maintenance of Deals Database Engine (DDE) web
partners.

LPMiller: has
broken more things PC then most people have owned. He has knocked
out whole powergrids, accidentally set fire to various peripherals, and
twice dropped a 19 inch monitor on his foot. That, along with his
years of experience in dealing with all things PC, both professionally
and as a hobby, make him vaguely insane. No one as of yet seems to mind.
LPMiller stands for Lawrence Peter Miller - you'd prefer LPM too. Half
Italian, all geek -sorry Ladies, he's married. He has been known to take
a picture of his kid at the drop of a hat, then immediately post it online,
an obvious case of Daddy Love. More a Jack of All Trades PC wise then
a specialist, he enjoys writing, playing games he never finishes, reading
and not moving more muscles then he has to at any given moment.

Jenny: Jenny is
the coupon guru of Got|Apex?. She spends hours and hours working for her
slavedriver boss, Apex, and neglecting housework, 5-year-old
son Josh, and friends (right Chrissy & Jeff?). Besides finding and verifying
coupons, Jenny loves music and reading, preferably country and romance.
She likes moonlit walks on the beach, candlelight dinners for 2, and enjoys
singing and dancing. (Oh, wait, wrong description. I thought this was
for my personal ad... hmmm...) She also lives to hand out her work to
other people (just ask Chrissy & Kim, right? ;-) ) and escape from reality (&
the mental institution she grew up in). Jenny is in charge of finding
and verifying coupons each day, keeping the coupon database up to date,
and posts deals on the weekend and when needed.
