Question

Epox 8K7A- I haven't read too much about this board, as it seems to be new, and the only review I read was linked from the 1.4Mhz review on GotApex's front page yesterday at:

http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=86

They seemed to love it, 9.5/10.

Specs-http://www.epox.com/HTML/ENGLISH/PRO...RD/EP-8K7A.HTM

Its the AMD761 chipset, and as I understand thats the new mutation of the 760 chipset that beat the via and ali for performace.

I'm looking for a high performance, simple, reliable board, for under $150, and this one goes for about $130 on newegg.com. Seems like an alternative to the A7M266?

Anyone mess with this board yet or hear anything about it? How are epox's traditionally?

Epox made awesome super socket 7 boards, and that carried over into the T-bird/Duron boards. They make really good, fast, and stable boards. You really can't go wrong with Epox.

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

Thumbs up

Yes this board is great,IMO it is very stable and oc's like crazy.I have had my Duron 800 @ 160x6 and what a rocket. I think U could drop the Multiplyer to 5 and get alot higher Fsb, But haven't tryed yet,But will soon. Burning in at 150x6.5 now.
Another good MoBo is the Iwill KK266, I own one of these too, and it is very very stable.(my best system,1G t-bird @150x10) either one are good choice IMO.
Well hope this helps.

I just bought this board last night, along with a 1.4 GHz Tbird with the "Y" stepping. I will be watercooling my system, so I should be able to overclock like a mofo!!
