HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- School officials were not amused when almost a dozen students showed up in pajamas Wednesday.

The Apollo Middle School students were sent home and will not be allowed back Thursday for their final day of classes. Also, they will not be able to take their final exams.

One of the students sent home says Wednesday was casual day for eighth graders who donated school shirts for next year's class. But pajamas were apparently too casual -- and a violation of the school's dress code.

A Broward Schools district spokeswoman says about 11 students came to school in pajamas and slippers and that the principal notified parents to pick them up Wednesday morning. Parents were also told the students should stay home Thursday.

Hmm, I don't see a problem with kids wearing pajamas, damn as long as its not skimpy. And anyways most schools have them weeks. This week is theme week at my chidren's school, Monday-Pajama Day, Tuesday-Spirit Day, Wednesday-Sports Day, Thursday-Career Day and I'm not sure about tomorrows theme.

Schools are wierd I know my kids school never sends home anything when there is a theme day so stupid me would send my kids like that, but as of making them stay home for the last day or test is kind of stupid.

But would you expect to be permitted to wear pajamas on other days?

Depends on what kind of pajamas. There are a lot of pajama pants that don't look like pajamas.

god i hated grade school. Now college, if you have a class earlier than 10am, then half the class rolls out of bed and drops in wearing pajamas.

Man, schools sure have gotten a lot tamer than when I was in middle school. When I was in middle school, nobody cared what you wore as long as you didn't try to kill anybody or destroy school property.

Hapoo, some of the girls who wear the PJ's I wouldn't complain about in my classes when I was in college.
