I called salvation army today to donate my used (6 yrs old) GE gas stove/range but they cannot come until mid-June. Does anyone know of any other orgs like Salvation Army that accept donations of used appliances and will pick them up for you? If not I am going to have to find someone with a truck so I can take it to the Salvation Army. I do not want to throw it out because it is in perfect working order and it is a shame to waste like that esp when others are in need.

FYI: I am in the Balt/DC area.

:stupid:

FreeCycle is the way to go. You'll probably get rid of it within a day or so...

:agree: Working appliances go really fast on Freecycle.

If you're looking for a tax donation, maybe try Goodwill (http://www.dcgoodwill.org/donate/where_to_donate.htm). They do home pickups too.

Habit for Humanity might take it too.
