isobuster appears to have a fee to buy the program. Is there anything else really cheap or free which does the same thing?

I believe there is a free version or free functionality in isobusters. You want to tell us what you are trying to do?.

You might try looking at the Daemon Tools (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/daemon_tools.cfm) to see if they do what you need. (Note: the last time I installed them my antivirus reported neutralizing some spyware.)

Convert a Super CD+G disc to iso and then burn it. As far as I can tell, the disc is a dual layer DVD approx. 7 GB.

No prob...I just google'd it. :)
You should be able to use the free functionality to do what you need to do; you can just pop in the disc you need to copy, then extract the disc data as a raw .iso image and then use whatever burner program you have installed to burn the image.
If you can't get it to work, post about it and I'll try to help as best I can. :thumb:

I installed Daemon and it wants to connect to the Internet to setup the software. That computer is not connected and never will be. I guess that's the end of that program for me.

It's JUST that cool of a program. Go to "My Computer" and right click your CD/DVD drive. Your fourth option from the top should be "Create image from CD" Click that and it'll walk you through.

OK, I did what you said even though it appears to be just for CDs. It burned an ISO image and it said that recording failed Code 000001. But I did find the ISO file on the C drive (over 7 GB)
So i assume everything is good for burning to a dual layer disc, Right?
All I have to do is get a dual layer disc. If this works, IN, I owe you big time.

Yeah. Try it and find out. Be prepared to hose a blank DVD+DL.

I right clicked "Burn to CD" on the ISO image. It appears that isorecorder doesn't support DVDs at the present time, and yet I have a 7 GB iso file. Nero also sees it as a CD file and so does CDCreator. Weird.

Nero should burn any .iso to a DVD. What version of Nero are you using?

I have 6.something. I have used Nero to burn movies successfully. Somehow, that iso file is stating that it's CD related, and not DVD related.
Maybe it's because I am using XP Pro?

Huh odd. I have nero 6 and it lets me burn any .iso to dvd or cd. Lemme dig around net forums a bit.

Do you have the copy DVD option? If not you may need a newer version of Nero.

For the actual copying I think you'd use the option just to the right of Copy DVD (Burn Image to disc)

I have the option Burn Image to Disc. I check iso files, I select NEC 3550A, but when I go the next window, the DVD option for the NEC drive does not show up, just the CD option.

So do you have the "Copy DVD" option? ;) I'm betting you need a different version of Nero.

Yes, I have used "Copy DVD" option to copy many many movies.

XP may be the problem. One last thing to try. Right click the ISO file and select "Copy to CD" of course in your case it might say "to DVD". See if that works. Otherwise we might be in a pickle.
Another question, I imagine you've tried the Copy DVD option in Nero on this disk. What's the error message?

Nero only shows the CD side of the NEC recorder with different speed options starting at 48X and lower. The DVD side doesn't even show up as an option, even with a blank DVD inserted. This happens under Copy DVD, not Copy CD.
BTW, there is no Copy to DVD under isorecorder, just Copy to CD. Is there a later version which supports DVDs?

Not as far as I know. See if "Copy to CD" will work anyways

So the DVD burner doesn't show up at all in nero? Maybe it's a driver issue.

Yes, it shows up but as a CDRW. Like I said, I have used Nero and this burner to copy movies using DVDShrink first which makes an iso file and then I burn it with Nero.

Huh, see the fact that is showing up as a CDRW only makes me think it's a driver issue. What brand is the burner?

It's a NEC 3550A. Like I said, I burn DVDs with it. No driver issue.
I am looking for another program. This thing is worthless for DVDs

Issue solved!!
I got a later version of Nero from Surplus Computer for $5.00 which copies DL discs.
I also ordered 25 DL discs, 2.4X speed.
I have a Toshiba SCSI CDROM which I used to direct copy to my DVD recorder. I didn't have to create an ISO image. Altough it took nearly 40 minutes, it successfully burned the disc.
