CyberRebate just filed for bankruptcy (chapter 11).* Unfortunately, this
hit many of us by surprise, as their managers said they were doing great, and
their <a href="http://biz.yahoo.com/st/010517/24564.html" target="_blank">advertising</a>
lately has gone through the roof.* Here`s the info:</p>
<ul>
<li>CyberRebate`s statement:* <b><a href="http://www.cyberrebate.com" target="_blank">CYBERREBATE</a></b></li>
<li>United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern District New York`s
announcement.* <b><a href="http://www.nyeb.uscourts.gov/announcements/memorandums/cyberreb.pdf" target="_blank">COURT</a></b></li>
<li>Message Board on MSN Communities (lots of good info there on what people
are doing, etc).* <b><a href="http://communities.msn.com/CyberrebateRebateRecoveryAlliance/messageboard.msnw?action=get_threads" target="_blank">MSN</a></b></li>
<li>I would suggest, first and foremost, to IMMEDIATELY call your credit card
and try to get your charges reversed.
<ul>
<li>If the customer service rep you speak with agrees to reverse the
charges, MAKE SURE you get their full name and extension.* I CANNOT
stress the importance of this enough.</li>
<li>Read up on your rights as a cardholder.* <b><a href="http://www.creditcardfreedom.com/just_the_facts/cardholder_rights.asp" target="_blank">RIGHTS</a></b></li>
<li>Read up on your charge back rights (this link is for those of you in
California.* Each state is different).* Good info here.* <b><a href="http://caag.state.ca.us/piu/creditc.htm" target="_blank">CALIFORNIA</a></b></li>
<li>If you have an AMEX blue card, and made the purchase within the last
90 days (most likely the case if you didn`t get your rebate yet), call
them about their Return Protection, which covers up to $300 per item, up
to $1000 per year.

<li>Apparently, Judy Tenzer, a spokeswoman for AMEX said that they
"will often take on the responsibility and make sure our
customers are not liable" in cases of bankruptcy."*
