This just blows my mind. Everytime you buy something, a few days later a cheaper faster one comes out. Anyhow, Yamaha greatly improved on their 16x burner with this one. You get SafeBurn technology, their version of Burnproof. Wanna rub salt in the wound? SafeBurn has a gap that`s more than 40x SMALLER than our first generation BurnProof`s. Yep, it`s that much more accurate. Throw in an 8mb buffer (all these Plextors, TDK`s, Teac`s, Cendyne`s, Lite-On`s, Sanyo`s, etc have only 2mb) and an automatic speed adjustment (if you have low quality media, it`ll automatically lower the burn speed, so that you won`t burn a coaster. This option can be turned off too) and you got a great unit. Anyhow, you can find the price here on pricewatch. You may have to call to make the purchase. I don`t know why the price is so low, but it`s an awesome burner for that price. Hopefully, it`s so big price mistake, so I don`t feel so bad about spending so much on my 16x10x40 Plextor. TEACCO
