Thanks to all of you that wrote in to me. Turns out it was just the PSU that blew and not the motherboard, so I`m pretty relieved. Luckily, I have a spare 420 watt unit to use as a backup while I send the PSU back to PC Power and Cooling. Oh, btw, we cleaned up the place really well and the landlord was quite pleased. We went from a place that our landlord said was unfit for even his enemies, to being a part of his family. I kid you not. So all you San Diegans are stuck with me for at least another year. ;)
