I'm looking for a good deal on a digital camera but I need to know where to start. What brands are good, Sony, Olympus. . .?

I have the Olympus 360L that I got for about $250. Its the best camera in its price range. Cnet.com has reviews of all digital cameras.

Hey tbone - a good place to start is deciding how much you want to spend, and then compare models in that price range.
The best manufacturers (IMHO) are Kodak, Olympus, and Nikon. Sony is also very good if you don't mind using floppy disks or their propriatary memory stick that you can only share with other Sony products.
Some places to do research:
http://www.cnet.com (already mentioned, I think)
http://www.dealtime.com
http://www.dpreview.com
http://www.dcresource.com
Good luck!

Thanks for all of your advice. I am looking to spend around $300 and a that price range there seemsto be little to chose from. I also don't want a very large camera, something smaller and more practical. I have been looking at some of the Olympus models in particular the D-460 and it seems like a camera like that would fit my needs. I found it on Pricegrabber for $297. Do any of you have experience with olympus? The reviews are good and it seems like a good buy. Please let me know what you think. Thanks
