I need a deal on the Nokia 8260 I found one for $99 shipped but it requires new activation. I already have a plan so I can't use it. You can send instant text mssgs with this one so I really want it. Got Anything??? The $99 deal is at http://www.1800mobiles.com

That looks like a pretty good deal from 1800 Mobiles- especially with $50 rebate + $25 gift certificate; I just bought the 8290 with Pacbell service for $50 with 1 yr sign up- I would have gone fpr the 800 mobiles deal if I saw it earlier.

I used to haave a Nokia 6160 and recently got the 8290-
the 8290 is about the size of the battery on the 61xx series- however, feature wise, theres not that much difference + I found reception to be a little worse + the sound a little more tinny then the 6100 series. It does look much cooler + much more convenient to carry + a couple cool features like voice activated dialing and short messaging service, guess it depneds what you're looking for.
