Now nobody get jealous, but I just bought a new toy :D. She's a '93 Honda CBR600 F2, and boy does she scream .

Better get in the "slow" lane when you see me approacing in your rearview :D.

Anyone know at what speed you start getting tunnel vision?

What is an R1's top speed? In fact, does anyone know where I can get (or just post if you know) stats on Horsepower and Top speed for :

F4i, R6, GSXR600, ZX-6R?

Enjoy your bike nanotech!

I couldn't resist....

175 on an f2,

I had a 1995 f3 that would go no faster than 153, with a full race exhaust and HRC modification (kind of like overclocking a motorcycle).

I have a 1998 R1 now that dynoed at 152 horsepower, and it bounces the rev limiter at 174.

150 mph is quite fast, 174 will make your butt sphincter capable of making diamonds from small pieces of coal.

Anyway, congratulations on your bike.
There is nothing like knowing you could roll up to $300,000 Dodge Viper (or just about any other exotic sports car) and smoke it in the quarter mile (on a $5,000 Japanese motorcycle).

Yeah, but could you play chicken with me in my SVT at 175mph? hehe

I love the fact that motorcycles can keep up with most fighter planes even on a steam deck, but there's something to be said for being able cruise at 146mph and still hear your favorite song in a CD player :)

actually redline, I haven't taken it up that high (yet). Thats the top end on the speedometer. her tires have "micro" cracks in them (from sitting out in the weather) so I'm not gonna get her up there too fast - don't wanna blow a tire out. I did take her up to 105mph on the test drive, and she's really stable.

I'm gonna keep the "excessive" speeds to a track (if I can find one)... I don't want to pay the ticket for doing 100+ (or get thrown in jail :()

Paladin: pick up a 96 Geo Prism (same as a Toyota Corolla, just cheaper) for about $4200, get the tires ballanced good and get it aligned. Than take it out to your favorite straight stretch of road (at least 2 miles), and use this shift guide:

1st - 0 to 20
2nd - 20 to 50
3rd - 50 to 70
4th - 70 to 90
5th - 90 to 130

NOTE: the speedo. tops out at 110mph, so youll have to get a cop to shoot you with his radar gun to see what your top speed is :D.

Colossus, your on, anytime :)

I didn't think Paladin was old enough to drive

Congrats on your new toy, Nano...

actually hapoo, thats not quite true... I've done 125mph in a nissan pickup before (yeah, it actually registered 125 on the speedo.) and I could still see lines. but it's probably not much past that speed. :D

I'll tell ya when I get the new tires on the bike :D

Hehe, I was kidding Nanotech. I would never play chicken with anybody....couldn't see myself taking a life, and my car hitting your bike head on, well, it wouldn't be pretty hehe. I'm not going to even try to race you, the physics of it just kill my car. However, when I buy my retired F4, then we'll race hehe. Aviation fuel is just so damn expensive

Hapoo, did 125 on I-10 today to see what you're talking about. Didn't see it. Maybe next time you should close the door on the Beemer :) Perhaps you meant 152 mph? Sorry, my car can't do that :( (Yet)
