View Full Version : ASUS CUSL2 temp spikes?

I really need some help here on this one...

I just installed Asus PC probe on my system. While monitoring the temp and voltage, I kept getting spikes and sags in both readings. I would get an occasional temp spike in the mobo, but it most frequently happened with the CPU, jumping from 22 degrees celsius to up to 211 degrees celsius. it happens about every 70-120 seconds.

I get the most frequent spikes in the -5V, where it jumps to -0.4 (that was the highest reading), and I get sags in the +12V and +5V readings occasionally

I don't get any computer lock up problems during boot up or operation, but I do have some annoying problems with Quake III getting all choppy that I have yet to correct(see my post in the software forum)

Does anyone know if this is buggy software or do you think I actually have a serious problem with my power supply/ mobo?

I'm not expecting ASUS to claim it's a motherboard problem anymore than I am expecting Tech Data to claim fault in this. If someone could help me out, I'd build a shrine in your name...

Thanks,

Wilks

I read about glitches such like that in this review:
http://flipchip.net/mobo_reviews/asus_cusl2_pg2.htm

I've heard the latest Asus beta bios clears up some issues: http://www.cusl2.com/bios.html

http://www.cusl2.com/ is a good page that deals exclusively with the cusL2 related matters.

I'm going to try installing these patches...

I'll be happy if they work...

I will need a photograph, sbp, if you want that shrine...

thanks
