View Full Version : 80 min. CDR/CDRW burner info
Any of you know of a site that lists what programs and, more importantly, what manufacturers/models are compatible to utilize 700MB/80min CDR's. Thanks.

You'll want to get the new Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32. The instruction manual says the drive supports 74 minute and 79 minute disks. I'm assumming the 79 minute disks are 80 minute disks. Rounding by manufacturers.
Cool. Thanks typered. I heard Plextor and Yamaha might support them. Unfortunately, I just bout a new HP 9340 and I don't think it'll do it. Doh! Oh well.

Any CD-R/RW can write to these. It is not a larger size disc or anything, the tracks are just closer together on the disc. Hope this clears up your confusion.
Are there specific brands that can actually take advantage of the extra space or is it by software or hardware or both?
Thanks

Pretty any Burner except Iomega can do it... Certain software programs are not made to use that technology but you can trick it, I have a 9110 with Creater 4D and it works just fine...

Both (creative 8x4x32x and a smart and friendly rocket 6x 4x 32x) support the 700 MB cd's IF you're using the right burning software. Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 supports the larger cd's.
