I recently bought a 2940uw adaptec scsi adapter to go with my yamaha scsi cd-r. I installed the card and plugged the cd drive into the card. Its the only device on the card. I then booted up my system, installed the drivers, and rebooted. Then when I rebooted the BIOS loaded, it detected my drive, but then it said "BIOS not Setup!!!" so I can't use my drive since the adapter's BIOS won't setup. Can anyone help me. If it helps both the card and drive are OEM. I also tried installing new drivers from the web, but that didn't help because the problem seems to be with the adapter's BIOS. Also I didn't want to update the BIOS on the card since the update on the web site said that it was not for OEM cards. I would appreciate any response.

How is the 2940 OEM? It came with the drive, or the computer? Also, I'd flash the BIOS on the card, it's not working now, so what can happen? If the card came with the drive, chances are it's the same card you buy shrink-wrapped in a store.

I realized the mistake a little while after the post. I had to disable the bios completely because the card was trying to boot a hard drive. This fixed the problem. The card works really well with my cd-r. Thanks for your suggestions and help.
