View Full Version : An Idea I had... merrit?

I registered the domain name, NationalFootballLeauge.net

My plan is simple, on the site I want to advertise various derogatory things, to sorta point out the humor in it all. For instance, How much money Americans spend on their merchandising, how much time we spend watching it (me included!) Put a spin on it and make light of the fact how many husbands neglect their wives and kids, that kinda stuff.

Then I want to proceed and list all major misdemeaners and felonies of the players. (active and past)

And lastly I want to list some of the college classes these dumb jocks took to get a degree at major universities.

My best friend is a full time researcher at Ohio State U. He has agreed to research this info at my bequest, and I need simply a web page designer to do the work. I will pay for everything If I can make it happen.

Anyone want to comment on the idea, or is it sometimes I just get "denost" and am having delusions. I think it'll be funny or interesting to say the leaste, and maybe, just maybe, bring the NFL to the bargaining table to remove my site. Whether legaly or monitarily. . . . .

Feedback please, before I waiste anymore time on this?

Don't be surprised if the NFL has a cow about it. These big companies are using the legal system to strip people of their websites.

well, I could help, but only on weekends, (i very much out of practice on my html though...) seeing as how my computer is an hour away at my brother's place, and who knows if I'll even have time on weekends when I start back into school.

i think sbp is right... hopefully, the LFN<-- will dislike it enough to buy the domaind from you (at a modest profit to you) and not have any grounds on which to sue you.

Seems like a waste of time to me, unless you have some major problem with the NFL. I think people are pretty well aware of the various issues you wish to comment on (we see it the sports section every day).

The NFL will not give you money unless you can afford to match your lawyers up against their's in court. They will most likely sue for the right to own the Domain name, like so many celebrities are doing these days.

Besides, taking an organization's or individual's name on the net in order to sell it to them or hold it hostage seems sorta opportunistic and underhanded, and isn't there enough of that everywhere?

hehe... I just noticed that too. BUT, since (if?) he spelled it worng, could the the real NFL still sue him for the name?

LOL, I did register it right! Thanks for catching that.

As to Zenbotty's comments, you're partially right. I think though some would laugh at the fact that say Andy Katzenmoijer (Patriots) Took coures like basketweaving, and golf throughout his teneir to get some b.s. degree. in turn one less person of merit who could have gotten his/her school paid for. That is rampant, we know that. This, and their legal records are a matter of public knoweledge. I don't think brining that to light, whether it be negative or not is important. These are afterall our hero's and role models.

"Mommy is it true Micheal Irvin is a repeated, deadbeat coke head?"
Well Son, let's check AWM's site and find out. . . . .
Yep, son, that crackhead has been caught numerous times.
There'll be no more Irvin's jersey's in this house!

The whole thing is just a fun (my fun) poke at the Franchise we love so much. Sueing me for information that is all public record is nothing I fear. Underhanded, maybe. They made it so!
