Isn't it time we stopped the big scam? After all the big talk about welfare reform, why is it that the corporate welfare state is still around? Or is it just an indicator of the true nature of government in this country, that it respects and protects monopolies while ignoring the 1st amendment whenever it's convenient.
What is the federal government really concerned with? The happiness of the people or the happiness of corporations?
Why does it insist on maintaining energy monopolies for selected private interests when a energy crisis is right about to smack us in the ass? Why do people unassumingly send 1/3 or more of their income to a body that spends less than 2% of it's income on public education and then expect it to prepare this country for the future? Why must we support war-monging if we are supposedly an advanced society that knows better?
Will the 21st century be better than the 19th in terms of public policy? That earlier century was marked by low wages, high tariffs, and frequent social unrest. Now we see a return of the robber baron spirit with the new congressional acts legitimizing corporate scams like bad software and setting up more trolls at every bridge. R U just going to sit back and PAY?
