I have in my possession 4 Sony Playstation 2 consoles. They seem to be going in the $900-$1100 range on eBay so I'm gonna say $800 each plus shipping. I know it's a lot and I know it's "scalping" but for a student like me, this is helping to pay the rent (and of course, the 5th PS2 which I'm keeping :) )

Unfortunately the memory cards that I was supposed to get are way backordered so I can't provide those. I do have access to a good selection of games; if you're interested in a system, let me know if you're looking for a particular game and I will do my best to find it. These I'll sell for whatever the retail price is (usually $49.95 + WI sales tax).

Thanks...

Shane

Ohh god...what a rip off..i think it is pathetic if someone is willing to pay that much for a game console(especially if they are a "starving student")

You really can't wait a few weeks or even months...you've gotta have some self control...

If you can get 900-1100 on ebay, then do so...if you can sell them for 300-400, then there might be takers. In other words, please don't try to pull stuff like this...

That's not cool in the leaste dude, but frankly I don't care if you eat one. I'm just curious how, and with what money did you get your 5 you currently have? Poor starving student aside. (laugh)

Praise jeevus, I don't have kids who'd be missing theirs this Xmas cause of dudes like you.... fOr shameee , for shame . . . . . for shame .... (trails off)

WHOA! If you wanna sell them i would suggest a more down to earth price.

Heh, you guys are pretty funny. I know 95% of you would be selling a PS2 for whatever you could on eBay if you had an extra. It would be foolish not to. I'd much rather have 2X-3X the retail price now and just wait 6 months to play the thing.

I know purchasing one for $800 (or anything above $300, which is already expensive for a console, IMO) is crazy. I sure wouldn't. But if you want one, and can't get it any other way, that's the going rate from what I see.

And where did I get 'em? Stuck them on a credit card. Like I do with too many other things. And I don't believe I came up with the "starving" part. :)

And how is this a slap in the face? Don't want it, don't buy it. I see a lot of stupid stuff posted here and everywhere that I don't want, but I don't bitch. To each his own.

Finally, this appears to be For Sale forum. You say go through eBay... but WAIT A SECOND, what is the exact title of this forum? "Want to buy, sell, or trade something, but don't want to go through Ebay? Look no further."

Guess I'm sorry I offended people, but I sure as heck don't understand why. Go yell at the people who are paying the money for them; it's the demand that's creating the price gap. If people weren't willing to go that high, many more people would be hanging on to the systems and using them (I did keep one for myself, actually).

"They seem to be going in the $900-$1100 range on eBay so I'm gonna say $800 each plus shipping." Only $800?!? What a generous person you are for $elling them for that price.

"I know 95% of you would be selling a PS2 for whatever you could on eBay if you had an extra." You know nothing of the sort futureal since I and plenty of other people have no interest in a playstation 2.

"It would be foolish not to. I'd much rather have 2X-3X the retail price now and just wait 6 months to play the thing." It would be foolish to pay any of these rip off prices for a playstation 2.

"I know purchasing one for $800 (or anything above $300, which is already expensive for a console, IMO) is crazy. I sure wouldn't." You know its crazy to pay that much for a console but you have no problem charging people that much.

"Finally, this appears to be For Sale forum. You say go through eBay... but WAIT A SECOND, what is the exact title of this forum? 'Want to buy, sell, or trade something, but don't want to go through Ebay? Look no further.'"
Finally look no further than this sentence: I have a good feeling the title of this forum will be changing real soon.

Good luck in $elling them dude.

Futureal....u are a moron. keep your 5 units...the rest of us all agree that your asking price is rediculous. i think we would all rather wait till the shelves are pack with them. sell them while u can...greed is one of the 7 deadly sins....seems like u got it.

Maybe you could get the broadband and set up your own mini network and rent out usage, ie 50 dollars an hour to touch this toy! I will buy all 5, I will paypal you $175, if shipping costs more let me know.

they will be on all shelves by mid-late november at approx $300 so if ya can wait 15-30 days you can get your PS2 for about 1/3 of what they are "going for" anywhere online currently

i dont know about you but for me it worth tsaving the $600 to wait a few weeks

I'm going to have to side with futureal on this one. What is he doing that makes this so insulting to some of you? He's got a highly desired commodity; as he said, if you ended up with one, either for free or for the MSRP, I'd be surprised if you didn't at least think about selling the thing. Why is it his fault that he's trying to resell these? Let's face it: the morons bidding up the prices on Ebay are really the ones driving this stupidity. This guy is naming what he thinks is his market value (which I'm sure is negotiable :)), and is asking if anyone wants one at that price. Yet some of you react like he's holding a gun to your head.
That said, we all know what a deal is. Such posts belong in the Got Deals? section, n'est-ce pas? There are people who try and sell all manner of junk for inflated prices in the FS/FT forum, and just because this guy's selling the product of the day at a rather ridiculous price does not give you license to run him off the board. Like he said, don't like the price, don't buy it.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with selling at such a high price. It's just supply and demand. Some people are willing to pay that much for it. Not me through. It reminds me of the Tickle me Elmo Craze a few year back.

Elmo, Furby (bought one of those too, sold it at a nice markup), PS2...there's one every year, and guess what folks, it's determined a LONG time before Christmas which one it's going to be. I remember hearing about Fubies and Elmo in, like, March of those years. Why I was keeping tabs on the Toy trades is beyond me, but...just goes to show we don't really determine our own demand...
