I don't know if this is allowed on this forum, but anyway, http://www.pricewatch.com is listing 256 MB RAM for $123.00. If you click on to the special for the hour , you will find a bunch of dealers who have it from $123 to about $128, including accessmicro. The way prices are going, we may see $100 in a month or two. I remember about a year ago, that this much RAM would have cost $600

isn't it less expensive to just get two 128mb dimms... unless you have space problems, I would just go with buying two if you really want 256mb...

There is another big advantage to the single 256MB stick over two 128MB sticks. When using "no name" memory, it isn't totally uncommon to get two different memory sticks that don't like each other and won't work well together. Sometimes this can be solved by changing slots, but not always. With a single stick, this won't happen.

When you boot up your computer, after the screen that tells you what graphics card you have will be a screen with a lot of info, and usually at the top left or bottom left you might find some info on your motherboad. Alternatively, you could open your computer and look for a logo on the motherboard or contact the place you bought it from.

Yes...it's cheaper if they don't charge shipping for BOTH the sticks. :P Cause I a lot of them pull that crap. I tried to get two sticks of 64 from one of the companies, but they were charging me shipping for both of the sticks.

(I think it was from accessmirco)
