As everyone knows, Hurricane Katrina caused one of the worst natural
disasters the US has ever seen. Please consider donating to to help with
relief efforts. We`ve decided to check out Charity Navigator, the leading
resource for understanding charities. To this end, we believe that
Operation Blessing International may be one of the best charities to support.
From disaster relief (food, water, clothing, medical care) to long term
community rebuilding efforts, they seem to be a solid organization, which has
been around since 1978. What we especially like is their efficiency rating
over 99%. This means, for every dollar you give, more than 99 cents goes
directly to programs, with an absolutely amazing 0.3% administration cost!
When we compare it to other great charities (ie. American Red Cross is
91.1% efficient, and has a 5.4% administration cost), they really stand out.
