I'm not talking about typos, which everyone makes. And, I'm not just talking about in these forums (although there are some very good examples). Spelling problems, I might be able to understand. But the grammar...I'm suprised some people are able to communicate in public. I know if they talked the way they typed they would be completely incoherent.

hmm :hmm:

did i say something star war-ish?? Some people will hate me others will just be shocked but I have only seen the first star wars. I never did like the whole star wars thing (although I am a star trek fan) cause everyone was so hung up on it. I remember in junior high all everyone would talk about is star wars, it got even worse when they rereleased it.

Hey, I love Star Wars, but I won't hold it against you Hapoo. You can't be blaimed for not enjoying a brilliant piece of film history...but you are accountable for being a Star Trek fan...and that is inexcusable :p. I've never enjoyed those shows or movies, but I know that they have almost as large a fan club, and it is easily as dedicated....so we're fairly similar, but on opposites of the coin. How about this...I'll get head, and you can get tail. Heh heh.

I'm tired of seeing it online, most definately. But I feel a whole lot stronger about one of the men running for President. Bush has the grammar skills of an aardvark.

Tail is fine with me :D ;)

Actually I cant stand the original Star Trek, or Deep Space Nine. But I do love The next generation and especially Voyager.

I enjoyed the Star Wars films. Some people however go overboard on Star Wars and seem to base their frigging lives around it.

I think the starwars episodes are fun to watch, once. They have some really good special effects, especially for being older films (episodes 4-6).

C'mon now, ya can't hate Captn' Kirk!

Voyager is definitely good... especially 7 of 9 ;)

For all of you who like the StarWars series, why not try something new. Maybe some movies by the Japanese cinematic genius, Akira Kurosawa. Just to give some examples, Try 'Seven Samurai,' 'Sanjuro,' 'Ran,' 'Yojimbo,' and of course 'The Hidden Fortress,' the very movie on which George Lucas based Star Wars. You'll find some real similarities. I guess in a way you could say that he invented the whole "gather all the random good guys and go beat the bad guy" theme which you see in so many movies nowadays.

:love::love: hehe j/k

I think Voyager has the best scripts. Although This seasons kinda pissing me off since almost every episode is based around Seven.

IMO Star Trek:Voyager is a mediocre tv series and the worst of the Star Trek series. The Star Trek franchise really needs a break since its recycling story lines and characters. You have the character thats struggling with their human side or wants to be more human {Spock, Data. Odo, 7 of 9). You have the civilization thats in a different time frame.

Unfortunately the Star Trek franchise won't be given a break since a new Trek series is being worked on.

yeah, i liked it better when they used a different color for every word.

I don't care if they have different colors for each letter but sometimes they choose high-light color background with high-light color word. My eyes are hurt and I can hardly read.

Yes, Voyager isn't as good as any other ST series. However I must point out that a reference to the "Old Star Trek" generaly refers to the first series, with Kirk and Spock. The series with Picard and Riker is usualy called "Next Gen". (Aren't all computer nerds required to know this?)
Or am I just letting everyone know how old I am?

And a picture of Jeri Ryan is never out of place!

What I want to know is how those little girls manage to type at a respectable speed that way. I mean, does it just become a habit (i.e., a twitchy left pinkie finger)?

But agreed, Dodge. The criminally negligent use of homonyms and the general lack of interest in spelling (yes, Happy Squirrel, I'm talking to you!) is really a pain in the ass. Talk about having zero respect for the people who you intend to read the post!

Is it just the camera angle, or does Jeri Ryan have chunky calves?

I think its so funny how we can never stick to one topic. This thread about bad grammar and spelling turnned into a Star Trek gathering. :heh:

There's this place a block and a half away from my home office (Downtown LA) simply called the "Shrimp Place". The sign says it's been there since the 20's, and I wouldn't really doubt it. Anyway, a favorite Monday ritual is to go down there for lunch and have a dozen, and then feel like total crap for the whole afternoon. It's a special feeling, Lloyd!

Frankly, the way that shrimp place looks, I'd be HIGHLY surprised if it had a telephone. However, if you know where the Grand Central Market is, it's on the non-Grand side of it, just to the right. On the other side of the wall from the liquor store.

*gurgle* sweet sweet deep-fried shrimp *gurgle*

No idea where Grand Central Market is. I'll ask around. So I assume it's not a family place?
