View Full Version : p-3 800E

I just got a p-3 800E Slot-1 with an Asus p3v4x motherboard and I'm currently running it at 992 Mhz (FSB of 124). Has anybody been able to run it at a FSB of 133? I tried and the computer wouldn't boot up. What's bizarre is a FSB of 120 doesn't work even though 124 doesn't, I've attributed the reason to a FSB of 120 runs the PCI much too high. So if anybody's had success running at 133, please tell me how you did it. Thanks.

I overclock PIII FC-PGA 600E to 800 (133) with ASUS P3V4X without any problems. Perhaps it's the memory to be the bottleneck.

It appears most people at overclockers.com are hitting right below the Ghz mark like you icedude3 or just above the Ghz mark at 1.008 Ghz. My suggestion is a better cooler like an alpha and give your cpu more voltage. The top voltage I would use with a good cooler is 1.85V.

The 600E goes to 800MHz with a 133MHz bus. Not 900. I run that setup as well. Easiest overclock EVER. Stock heatsink and fan at 1.7v ... and that's it... cA2 stepping, no less!
But on the P3V4X, 120/124 is the threshold where the PCI divider/AGP divider switch over to divide by more. You know the numbers.

My mistake. I overclock 600E between 800 (133) during normal works and 900 (150) when playing games.
"Easiest overclock EVER. Stock heatsink and fan at 1.7v ... and that's it... cA2 stepping, no less!" Damn right. I have a 600e overclocked to 800Mhz also.
