agp 4x card on an apg 2x MB

Ok, I feel a little stupid asking this, but I want to confirm that an AGP 4x video card, such as the GTS will work on a motherboard that only supports AGP 2x.

I have searched everywhere, but search engines dont cooperate with this kind of search.

Put your mind at easy by knowing an AGP4X videocard will work on an AGP2X motherboard since its backward compatible. AGP4X is overrated anyway so your not missing much if anything in terms of performance wga22. http://www.geocities.com/sbp7777/happy2.gif
