I have clipped this directly from the email they have just sent me:

With our sincerest apologies we must inform you that due to a pricing error, the digital camera (Kodak DC290) order you may have placed with EqualFooting cannot be processed. We have taken the necessary steps to immediately correct the error on the EqualFooting website and hope that you remain
interested in purchasing the camera at the correct price. If you have any questions or if you are still interested, please feel free to make your purchase online at http://www.equalfooting.com or by calling our Customer Care
Center at 1-877-55-EQUAL (877-553-7825). You will also receive a letter of apology regarding this unfortunate pricing error in the mail shortly. EqualFooting regrets the inconvenience this pricing error might have caused and hope that you will continue to use our service.

Out of curiosity, when did you receive this email? I hate it when sites pull a Staple on me (i.e. cancel my orders without emailing/calling me). :angry:

Me neither, and I placed my order less than half an hour after Apex posted the deal. :D

At any rate, I still think it'll be cancelled. But if isn't... I'll just end up with both a DC290 AND a DC4800. :)

heh, a pricing error my royal behind. If the vendor can't even verify the prices he posts, he's either lazy or incompetent; whichever the case, sentry telecom cannot be trusted.

Not to be cynical or anything, but has it struck anyone as it has struck me that they were trying to pull a bait-and-switch to attract some free publicity? I was hesitant to jump in on the deal because if the vendor went through the trouble of filling in the comment section, wouldn't it make sense the vendor would take somewhat more care when entering the price; not to mention the keys 7 and 2 are on the opposite ends of the keypad. It's a possibility the vendor entered the comment section with the correct information so they would have some beef if it was sued for bait-n-switch rather than the data entry error it maintains.

I was wondering if American Express might be able to help me out here - I paid using my Amex Blue card.

What I have is an invoice which shows that I have a contract with EqualFooting/the vendor to deliver said product for said amount, right?

Could I turn around after they sent me something and say, oh sorry, I'm not going to pay you now, it's too much money? No! So why should they be able to cancel from their end?

What's happening to America?

Any new news regarding the camera.....I don't want to call and ruin mychances of getting it, if in fact they are sending some out. The status on my activity center still is committed.

Don't hold your breath guys.... just like the 2cent/alkaline battery deal, not everyone will receive an email but you can be sure that sentry telecom is not shipping out cameras for $249. Sentry Telecom is probably a one man operation, ok maybe a one-woman backyard operation that has about one camera in stock and will drive all the way to best buy and get you one if you placed an order at their ridiculous price. :)LOL

Well I just called my bank to see if the camera was actually charged to my account, and they haven't even charged it yet. So I am assuming we are all out of luck, darn!

I checked with bestbuy, even they are out, so you're stilll out of luck with sentry telecom :)
