I took the State Civil Service secretarial exam almost two weeks ago. Got the results that I passed yesterday! I was worried because one of the ladies there was very nervous because she failed the first time around.
That the quietness of the room and hearing the others clicking their mouses, really makes you wonder if you are answering the questions fast enough.
Hopefully this will let me start applying for some more decent paying jobs with the State. I am not exactly doing what I love to do, but a substantial pay increase would help me out a lot. :)

Something must be in the water here at G/A. We've had a run on this sort of thing. Congrats to you; glad to see your hard work pay off.

It is a bit unnerving when you hear others working at an entirely different pace. Glad you didn't let that sidetrack you.
Congrats and good luck on the new job hunt!

Thank you everyone! I was looking at the state website. and there are a few jobs open. It would mean a move, but that wouldn't be a problem for me. The only one around here would be working extensively with prisoners, which I am not sure that I want to do.

Congrats Em.
I hope you find yourself the perfect job.
Congratulations! I know the benefits for working for the state of California are really good. How are they out in Michigan?

They are good here also. Better than where I am currently working, and I have pretty good benefits. Also the pay increase would be between $2-$5 an hour.

Ha Ha! Yeah at least there I would have a captive audience right? Who cares if it is a maximum security prison. . .I am sure they are all innocent :P
