I really hate DHL. I sent in my daughter's iPod for warranty repair, and had to pay $30 for shipping. I thought $30 was kind of steep, but that was Apple's terms.
I see it was sent back yesterday via DHL with Next Day Saturday Delivery (I guess that's why shipping was so steep.) According to DHL's website, this package isn't going to be delivered until WEDNESDAY!
I understand that Tuesday is a holiday, but I apparently paid for Saturday delivery. What a crock.

ouch. although I've only had good experiences with DHL, your situation sounds like a total scam to me..

i've never had to pay shipping for apple warranty, but it's been awhile. However, DHL managed to 'lose' 2 ipods and a 15 inch apple laptop. Of course, apple then sent us brand new ones, but I despise DHL, and don't trust them for anything.

sometimes you are at the mercy of the retailer (they probably get discounted rates from DHL)

wow. you can try complaining to ipod about it to see if they'll be the bigger person (er, company) and refund the shipping. and i don't know how paying for the shipping went down, but if it went through a credit card, complain to them. my credit cards are always more than happy to f*** some other company on my behalf when i can show i've been wronged.
and i thought i hated ups... i haven't had a problem with DHL yet... oooooh, do i love supporting the usps, i use it whenever i can and hate it when a company doesn't give me the option...

I checked the DHL website, and if you use their "Next Day 3PM" service, it says your package will be delivered overnight to "primary delivery areas".
So that means my package then reverts to Second Day, and due to the holiday, a Wednesday delivery.
My hatred for DHL goes way back to 1990 when a major client would send their time-sensitive advertising material via DHL overnight. The weekly package would *always* arrive late, sometimes two or three days late. When I'd complain to DHL, they'd give me the "primary delivery area" excuse. I asked the client to use another method (even first-class mail would have been faster) but they said they were stuck with DHL.
Microsoft regularly sends my MSDN updates by DHL second-day, and they sometimes take a week to get here. DHL once took 16 days to deliver my "overnight" package from Dell.
UPS, FedEx and the post office don't have a problem delivering on time to my area.

More news: The iPod still has not arrived. I called DHL, and they said the packaged had been given to the USPS for delivery, since DHL doesn't deliver to my area. What? I get DHL deliveries at least once a month. I asked if they would be giving the shipper (Apple) a refund. She said yes. Now we'll see if Apple will pass a bit of that refund along to me.
It's just a stupid iPod, but it's the principle!

I hate DHL as well. Many stories from one shipping label.
And now, they dropped off the package to the wrong freaking person in my apartment complex. I'm gonna try to get Dell to use another shipper who knows where I live instead of DHL that always messes ish up!
