I’m thankful that God is so very cool and really very nice to me and mine.

My son's Big Brother, Danny, could not be more perfect for my son, James. They laugh and joke and are all animated when they return from their outings and are already looking forward to the next one.

Yesterday they went to a Padres game. Threatened to steal baseball bats from the dugout, “graded” girls (ugh!), ate too much junk, roasted in the sun and nearly lost their noggins to a foul ball.

Crazy boys.

One of their next get togethers will be at our house. Danny is going to re-sting and tune James guitar. This guitar is one of those cheapy $100 ones that come out at Christmas time so I’m unsure as to just how “tuned” it can ever be. But they’re going to try and that’s all that matters.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters are an awesome-awesome-awesome organization. i volunteer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and it's one of the most rewarding things i have ever done. the girls on my Boys & Girls Club softball team pooled their money together and got me a gift cert. to my favorite local restaurant just for coaching them. they certainly didn't have to do that. i didn't expect it at all. i just love those girls to pieces.
every single one of them. :)

that's cool! it's great that they click. and the cheap guitars can be surprisingly good these days... i bet new strings is all it needs (replace them at least 2ce a year even if it doesn't get played much, 3-4 times if it gets played several hours a week.)
