Anyone know why I can't view any pages on compusa.com? Checked my hosts file and nothing was amiss. If I go through a proxy, I'm able to load the site, but it's sort of a pain cuz the proxy I use doesn't load images. The problem goes for all the computers on the network.

Is this a new thing? Did it work recently? Did someone install wnidows firewall and its randomly rejecting the site? Or maybe you buy too much stuff?

Problem is pretty old...I'd say at least three months?

paranoid android says: your ISP is throttling your bandwidth - it hates compusa! or worse, it bans their IP!!!
:P (ok that wasnt any help, but conspiracy theories abound, especially with net neutrality...)

Does it look normal through translate.google.com?

CompUsa (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.compusa.com&langpair=es%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8)

Dave.

It just hangs if I don't go through a proxy.

tried more than one browser? What about mozilla? That'll help tell you if it's a networking vs. application problem.

Did you check your hosts file? I can't imagine why compusa would be in there, but I have seen virus / malware that will modify your host file so you can't get to certain locations. (Usually anti-virus related though)

gwilks: hangs in every browser (opera, ie, ff) on every computer in the house.

jcranmer: ya my hosts file is fine.

rc: it's a stretch, i know, but it's really starting to look like my ip is banned.

i'm stumped.

Ok this is a little odd. I can't ping or traceroute to www.compusa.com. That's not all that odd, but the "Destination net unreachable" error usually means something isn't right. Howeever I can get to the web page without any problems. So I am stummed as well!
