Damn i lost both sets of my keys for my G35, so i called the dealership and you know what they tell me? Each set is $300, a lil under 295. That includes 11 key 1 remote and programming. What kind of bull**** is that? 600 bucks for 2 sets... damn them all to hell

Wow. More expensive than the Mercedes or BMW keys.

That is what happens when the key has a chip in it. I was told it would cost about that if I needed my keys replaced when I bought my Mazda3.

the keys...
Man, if only you had a pic of your key.
When I had my Lex, I bought a spare Master Key off of eBay, sent them only a 5MP pic of my key, and they cut it and sent it to me with programming instructions.
I think I got one key for $45.

You should have been given 4 sets of keys for your car. 2 with FOBs, a valet key, and a regular key. If you have the last key I mentioned then you can take a picture of that key and do what kevs said to get a key cut and get a FOB.
I know with the Altima (I believe Nissan uses the same key system for all their cars) you can program a key yourself if you have one of the sets of keys for your car.
How did you manage to lose both FOBs?

I don't know about car keys, but I know that if you work with Kwikset house keys a little, you get to the point where you can "read" the code off someone's key just by looking at it. I imagine that at least some types of car keys are the same.
