just found out last nite, that one of my students was in a major car accident. she was in critical condition, and some complications occurred, she had a stroke and passed away.

she was only 7 years old.

i'm just floored right now.

I can't imagine the pain, not only for you but her parents as well. So young...

I'm very sorry to hear about your student-brought tears to my eyes instantly...I can only imagine the sorrow you feel. My heart goes out to her family. God rest her little soul...

man, the funeral is tomorrow...

i feel like a terrible teacher b/c i don't want to go, and i don't want to go b/c i know i'm gonna lose it when i see her parents....:cry:

sigh....

what's the proper thing to bring? flowers?

I am really sorry RoniMan. I had to go to a funeral myself this week and it is really difficult to see the immediate family in such pain. But when they are able to look back at it they will appreciate everyone that came to support them. I wouldn't bring flowers. If you want to have flowers/plant sent to the funeral home/church that would be a better idea they will take care of set up and helping the family with them afterwards. Depending on the service details they may also have a card holder, which may be a better idea to bring with you.
