Anyone interested in the league again this season? Ray, you gonna be setting this up again?
Just wondering...enjoyed it last year, wouldn't mind doing it again.
I'll be setting it up shortly. Most likely sometime this afternoon or tomorrow.
I will post details when I can.
Just set the league up.

Yeah, so draft accordingly this year. That means taking both Chris Simms and another QB in the first two rounds. ;)

Actually, you can count me out. I like the 1 QB/2 RB/2-3 WR format better. Plus, I remember the scoring being very odd last year, with QBs routinely scoring negative points.

Just a suggestion, but if you are going to have bonuses for 150 rush yards and 150 receive yards you should have a bonus for 300 pass yards.
And I agree on the format being odd, but what the heck, it's free.
Anyone interested in joining a traditional 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 Def league? If so, PM me and I'll set one up.

Yahoo doesn't allow for a bonus for passing.
edit: oops, i found the option. cleverly hidden with sacks and interceptions.

I'm in for that. Just use traditional scoring along with those bonuses you mentioned. Let me know when you get it set up.
Oh, one other thing: there must be a lot of trash talk. It just makes it so much more enjoyable.

Only one team has joined my league so there are 8 spots left. I was getting a bunch of errors yesterday when I setup the league so they may just be having technical difficulties with the amount of traffic.
For those that plan on joining the league, we can have the draft on labor day weekend at pretty much anytime or we can have it the weekend before on Sunday morning. The only times that are left the weekend before are 9 and 10 am EDT so it would be very early for any people on the west coast. The other option is to have the draft on a weeknight but that may also prove tricky. Let me know what you want to do because I'm flexible.

Yeah, I've been in a college pick-em league for the last few seasons. Here's the rub:
10 games picked each week. You assign a confidence rating to each pick. You then get the amount of points you assigned if you get the pick right.

Okay, the G|A league i setup is full now.
I have 5 spots open in my personal league that will be drafting this Saturday at 1:30pm EST. It's slightly more traditional from a settings standpoint, but we like changing up our rules and scoring every year to keep things fresh and interesting.
Though this isn't a keeper league, it is a league that I run with my real life friends every year. If you want to join and be a player every year then please send me a PM so I can add you to my distribution list.
I hope to see some of you sign up.

That was the year WVU finished 4-7 and still almost was the monkey in your wrench. If it wasn't for some lucky plays and some gifts from the refs you would have had an "L" hung on you by a 4-7 team. And, was that the national title game that your boys lost? :P

Well, I wouldn't start Bledsoe this weekend. Looks like Romo is going to start. Mike - are you ready for another loss? :P
IRVING, Texas — Tony Romo is taking over as the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, and will make his first career start Sunday night at Carolina.
Coach Bill Parcells said Wednesday that Romo, who replaced 14-year veteran Drew Bledsoe in the second half of Monday night's 36-22 loss to the New York Giants, will start.
"Any time you do something like this, it's not without a lot of consideration," Parcells said. "I've been thinking about it for some time. ... Hopefully, maybe as the team is comprised right now, he might be able to do a couple of things that assist us."
Neither Bledsoe nor Romo appeared in the Cowboys locker room when it was open to reporters earlier Wednesday.
Romo, a fourth-year pro who had never thrown a pass in a game until this season, will be the ninth different starting quarterback for the Cowboys since Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion Troy Aikman retired after the 2001 season.
Bledsoe joined Parcells in Dallas before the 2005 season, reuniting with the coach who made him the No. 1 pick in 1993 for the New England Patriots.
His last pass Monday night was an interception at the goal line just before halftime when the Cowboys had a chance to take the lead. Bledsoe had already been sacked four times, once for a safety.
Romo was intercepted on his first pass, on a ball tipped by Michael Strahan. He threw two more interceptions, one returned 96 yards for a touchdown.
"He's got to be more careful with the ball than he was the other night," Parcells said.
But Romo also showed he could be effective. He scrambled and completed 14 of 25 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns, and flashed more footwork running for a 2-point conversion.

I'm ready to find out if we have a QB or not. Hey, the young guys either work or they don't. Roethleiseshbuerger worked out...some other guys don't. Dallas wasn't going to win the big games with Bledsoe, so let's see what Romo can do. At least get the learning curve out of the way.
See, I'm a realist as a fan. I know when my team has a shot and when they don't. Just sayin'. ;)

Long season. A lot of football left to play. See all you suuuuuuuckas again!
When I set the league up I thought I had mentioned to everyone that it was a keeper league. Yeah, that's it. My team has the "potential" to be super awesome, but um, I forgot to make us a keeper league. Yeah, that's my excuse for having a .500 team...

Putting Campbell in is the best move he's made this year. Even if the kid goes 0-7 the rest of the way, at least you know what you have going into camp next season. With Brunell, you knew you weren't going anywhere.
Which segues back into FFL. Just like Brunell, Sizemic isn't going anywhere. Tomlinson can't score 4 TD's a week forever...and when he stops, so do the wins. :hehehmm:

Put in a call to Marvin on Monday morning. Told him Prime Time needed some extra juice Monday night, at least 3 TD's. A gang of yards, too. Also talked to my main man Freeney. Told him to come through with some sacks, maybe a few forced fumbles. It's playoff times...big game! Big Timers come through in times like these. Glad to see my boys are Big Timers.

It has been a fairly fun season. I look forward to next season. :)
As far as Slaton is concerned even with 1 arm (which is all he has been able to use for the entire season) he is still better than 99.9% of the RBs out there and waaaaaaaaay better than anyone the chokies have had on the field this season or last. He only fumbled against the ville b/c he hurt the one good arm he has. After the season is over he has to have surgery on his injured arm. Talk about tough as nails.
